National Oral Health Day
The NZDA celebrates first Friday in November as our ‘National Oral Health Day'. The aim of this day is to raise awareness about the importance of oral health through education, advocacy and access to oral care.
As part of this year's awareness campaign we are launching a 'call to action' campaign called Swtich to Water. The campaign calls for participants to take up the challenge to switch their sugary drinks to water for 30 days.
Former Silver Fern player Irene van Dyk is this year's campaign ambassador. We are extremely pleased to have Irene's involvement in this campaign. This campaign will be promoted thorughout New Zealand by various oral health and health professionals.
Dental professionals including dentists, dental therapists, dental hygienists and their support staff from over 700 dental practices are showing the way to their patients by taking part in the Switch to Water challenge.
