12th September is World Oral Health Day!

The New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA) is pleased to join the FDI World Dental Federation and national dental associations around the world to celebrate this day. The aim of this day is to increase awareness for oral health, as well as the impact of oral diseases on general health, well-being and national economies.

To mark the occasion of the World Oral Health Day in 2009 the NZDA, in conjunction with Colgate, organised a photographic competition. Public were asked to submit a photo that demonstrated one of the three steps recommended by the NZDA to maintain healthy teeth and gums - healthy eating, effective home oral care and regular dental visits.
